Why Do Doctors Wear Green or Blue Clothes During The operation?

You all have seen doctors wearing green or blue clothes in the hospital or in  movies or in web series.Usually, doctors wear such clothes during the operation.

But have you ever thought that why do doctors wear blue or green clothes during all the operations? Why not any othe colour?Let's Know !

Before the twentieth century, hospital clothes or scrubs, used to be white.. to denote cleanliness. But later the colour was changed to green.

Red-green colour lie on opposite side of the colour wheel. That means there is no such colour as reddish-
green or greenish-red, unlike a bluish-green colour (according to Opponent Process Theory of Colour Vision).
The brain interprets colours relative to each other, so the contrast between red and green makes it easier to look out for blood oozing out during a surgery.

Also continuously looking at red can lead to distracting green illusion on white surface and desensitizes the cones in the eye (cells responsible for colour vision), so looking at green scrubs during the surgery preserves the sensitivity of the eye to red.

There is more than one reason why a judge resorts to this action after he/she has passed the judgement. 1. The practice is symbolic of the belief that a pen which is used to take away a person’s life should not be used ever again for other purposes. The very act of giving the death sentence, or taking the life of someone, is considered so “unholy” that the pen automatically becomes sullied. Hence, the pen is destroyed. 2. After passing the death sentance,Judges have no powers to review/revoke the judgement or order once it has been written and signed. So the nib is also broken, symbolic of the fact that the judge cannot cancel or rewrite the judgement if he/she has a change of heart or mind.   3. It is done by the judge as a way of distancing himself/he...
